Time is a tickin' for my little man Nicholas, and I am getting my ideas in motion -- my brain has just been buzzing with a million fundraising ideas! It is difficult to narrow down, because I want to do them ALL.
One thing for sure. A mammoth garage sale is in the works. It's funny how we have been needing to unburden ourselves from the unnecessary things in our house for a while now, and the shelves are stacked full of items to get rid of, not to mention our attic. And all it takes is the idea of one little boy's fate in Eastern Europe to kick my butt into gear. The idea of extra cash never thrilled me enough, I guess, and it always seemed so overwhelming to organize. But we are going to do it, and everything will go towards Nicholas' grant fund at Reece's Rainbow.
The sale is set for Saturday, June 4th, and we will also be including a bake sale to draw them in and empty their pockets in exchange for some yummy treats! I have some wonderful friends donating a lot of items for the sale, and I couldn't be more grateful! I am crossing my fingers that this will give my little boy a big chunk of change for his adoption grant, and possibly get some awareness raised for him. You never know -- Nicholas' family just might be right here in my town.
We are also going to raffle off something very special (to be announced...), and I hope it will have a lot of response!
